Welcome to Zena and Rose, a local West London artist, our newest partner, to join The Store Collective's family.
Joanna launched the brand in September 2021. Joanna was looking for a creative outlet after working for ten years in the heritage and museum sector, advising on the conservation of historic buildings.
Zena & Rose design makes colourful patterned home products. The collections include printed textiles featuring heritage-influenced designs and striking marbled home accessories.
We had a pot of tea with Joanna to ask her about the inspiration behind her work.
Joanna can you tell us about the purpose behind your work?
Zena & Rose’s mission is to highlight interior design heritage, whilst appealing to contemporary taste, resulting in desirable and original products. The brand’s values are based on local manufacturing and responsible sourcing of materials.
What inspires you as artist?
My passion for 19th and 20th century textile design and decorative arts was the foundation for the first few collections. Inspiration mainly comes from botanical illustration and the natural world. Recently I have added new products to the range, handmade from Jesmonite. This material can be coloured and moulded for striking contemporary designs.
